Ed Talorda has been in the San Diego local metal/ extreme metal scene for the past 23 years. With
roots prior in the older school more traditional heavy metal and rock and roll from Sabbath/ KISS to
Ozzy/Maiden/Dio to Metallica/Slayer/Testament/Kreator/Dark Angel, and finally to the Florida/New
York driven extremes of Suffocation/Deicide/Morbid Angel/ Broken Hope era……
Known locally for a 12 year brotherhood with thrash influenced Death Metal act, Mortuus Terror, Ed
moved on in 2004 to join the ranks of another, then 13 years in San Diego based Brutal Death Metal
act, Disgorge. Performing in a long overdue 2nd guitar position, Ed entered as a live performer and
a year later appeared debut in the band’s 4th full length CD “Parallels of Infinite Torture”. After 2
years of touring and the loss of bassist and dear friend, Benjamin Lee Marlin, the band had went
separate ways in hiatus without any official breakup to the extreme music world. 5 years later and
playing Disgorge songs with Diego Sanchez along with friends and other ex Disgorge members,
Scott Ellis, Oscar Ramirez, Matti Way, AJ Magana, Ron Casey, and Angel Ochoa(collectively known
as To Violently Vomit), Ed spoke with RCG rep Jesse Watson at the Mountains of Death Burial
edition Festival loosely with plans to build a guitar to suit his needs. Almost 7 months later, and the return of Ricky Myers(Disgorge drummer) back to Southern California, nostalgia from both band and fans began arising and the return of Disgorge (US) was becoming a material reality.
To help mark the occasion and a renewal of commitment, Ed began his pursuit of the RCG Warbird, in a 7 string format, properly dubbed the Warbird D7, in which he had worked closely with the build crew to make a neck through version that would best personalize his playing style and comfort on stage like no other guitar could. It’s porous walnut construction with its unique choice of aesthetic curling, original model Floyd Rose 7 String Tremolo, and a blistering bridge position EMG 707X, set for warmth without sacrificing crunch and chunk, will debut at the Las Vegas Death Fest, as well as become an expansion of the arsenal to be used to write Disgorge’s upcoming LP entitled “….and the Weak Shall Perish” to be released mid 2013.
